Rambling after week 10...(or after weekend 2)

Well here we go....

No big deer hunting story for me this week other than Walt Trader putting his hunting knife into his leg while trying to break open a pelvic bone (belonging to the deer, not his own).

As for football -- for those of you who came out of the woods to watch the Vikings play on Sunday -- were you confused?  I sure was.  How could a team play so badly on offense -- and not just kind of bad -- really really badly, especially the offensive line -- and still win?  I know that Brad Johnson has now 'won' his last two starts, but for perspective lets remember that he beat the Lions at the Dome and then 'beat' the Giants on Sunday.  Even though it would make Jugs give a 'rats patooty' about the vikes, I doubt even the addition of TO would make a lot of difference -- unless he can play left guard as well as WR.

And speaking of....I don't know about you, but I do not at all feel sorry for Terrell Owens.  I enjoy watching the NFL - I enjoy watching guys with the natural talent of Terrell Owens - I HATE watching guys with the egos of Terrell Owens.  And, he (and his "agent") still making way too much money to complain about anything.  But enough about TO and how much he's gonna screw up Donovan's season....

So in the interest of my time I think I'll just move on to some interesting stats from the BIG for this season thus far.....

Yeah me....Air JC leads the BIG with 8 100+ weeks thus far.

Double Yeah for Jugs.....the Fantasy Superior has gone 10 for 10 with 93+ weeks.

Suomala's 'Fish are the only team with a winning record (6-4) and more points against (1000) than for (955).

The Drunken Sailors have never lost LESS than 8 games in a season - Mike is sitting at 1-9 this year.

Jonny's Tang leads the Husky Division and also that division in points scored (1068) - a mere 43 points more than GOO's (1023) last place team in the division.

Wong now holds a 4 game lead in career wins (62) over Juice and JC's (58).

Ben's Team Nookie has averaged 133 during his current three game winning streak (145, 101, 151).

Juice's squad must have gone hunting all last month -- those that have shown up are averaging 48.5 over the past 4 weeks (46, 69, 32, 47).

Jason's LRH has some work to do to finish at 7-7 after his current 4 game losing streak has put him 4 games under 0.500 at 3-7.

The LB's have been real close this year -- 5 weeks in the 80's -- 1-4 in those weeks.  The LB's streak of 10+ wins will end at 2 seasons.

Finally.....Smitty's Fat British Pigeons are rolling with a 3 game lead in the Bulldog Division backed by a 4-0 divisional record at this point.  You can't quite pen in Smitty in the postseason yet, but I'd feel pretty safe using a pencil.

What a turn of the tables.....the Bulldog Division teams are averaging 87.5 points per week per team....the Bison, 97.3....and the Husky boys are at a whopping 104.3 -- remember all those years where the Bulldog Division dominated.....

And of course....If the playoffs were today --

Bulldog Division Champ - Fat British Pigeons (7-3)
Husky Division Champ - Wong's LD's (7-3)
Bison Division Champ - Fantasy Superior (7-3)

As for the wildcard.....I had to dig up the tiebreakers since we have Jonny, Ben, Suomala and JC all at 6-4.  And on the 2nd tiebreaker which is the Overall Win % - Air JC (74-36) beats out Jonny (66-43-1) for the 4th spot, but that is sure to change somewhat with 4 weeks to go.

On tap -- this weeks big divisional matchups:

Bulldog Division -- Fat British Pigeons vs. Little Bastards.  The LB's have shown they have potential to put up a big week here and there and a win here would begin to close the gap between these two squads.....on the other hand, Smitty's team is rolling and a win here would all but sew up the division championship.

Husky Division -- Wong's LD's vs. Team Nookie.  Huge potential for Team Nookie here to really throw the Husky into a log jam.  Wonger can just about take out Nookie's season with a W and turn the Husky Division into a two team race between himself and Jonny.

Bison Division -- Air JC vs. The Fantasy Superior.  All message board stuff aside - these guys have a solid rivalry even without the divisional championship on the line.  For the Overall Win % this year, these are the top 2.  Both are 3-1 in the division, so a 4th win would be huge.

So there is a lot going on as we head down to crunch time.....I've only mentioned the top matchups of the week, but the other 3 games are just about as important as the bottom teams are shooting for the big upsets.....should be good stuff -- on to humor

The manager of an office knew that he had to fire either Debbie or Jack.  He didn't want to fire either but it had to be done.  After a lot of thought, he decided that the fairest way to decide whom to let go would be to fire the first one who got up and went to the water cooler the following day.  The next morning, Debbie came to work with a huge hangover.  She got up and went to the water cooler to down an aspirin.  The manager went over to meet her and do what he had to do.  He said to her, "Debbie, I'm sorry to say this, but I either need to lay you or Jack off."  Debbie, surprised at the comment, responded, "Well, you better jack off cause I'm hung over and just couldn't do it with this headache."

Need I say more?
