da da daaaa....Captain America to the rescue...From the healthy, Norton virus protected notebook of your commish. Tuesday October 30th, 2007 9:40 PM Rambling after Week 8... Another week, another Ramble. This week's activities had a few moments to yap about - so this might go fairly quick (well, except for the fact that I'm also trying to watch good old Boston Legal right now). Point one....3,650 some odd days have passed since four members of this league laced up the cleats for the last time. Seems like quite a few, but on the other hand has breezed by. On that topic, PHS heads undefeated into the Section championship against Esko. Yes, Esko. With the up-jump of Hermantown this year to 4A, I-Falls ugly season and Esko's jump to 3A, the tradition of the Sea-Range (or whatever it is currently referred to) doesn't seem right.....well, except that Proctor and the old ball coarch finds itself deep in the playoffs. This past weekend brought the 2nd annual Carlson Halloween Party. Went very well - lots of good costumes and fun. From Trav's "Tard Bus" to Krista's "Slippery When Wet", everybody did a great job. See the pics on facebook... Curious to see if Jonny will go for the deal.....he's been offered over $100 to wear his Captain America costume to work all day on Wednesday. That's right, Captain America to the rescue, delivering your concrete. I'm hoping he goes for it. Can't even imagine how funny that would be. Coming up this week we have Minnesota deer hunting opener on Saturday, Carlson family day to the Metrodome on Sunday and the Duluth mayoral election on Tuesday. For deer opener - I'm nowhere near ready - but, what else is new. I'll grab my Coleman chair, thermos of cappuccino, PB and J and rifle and get a solid weekend of sleep in the woods. Maybe this year I'll get a deer, or maybe I'll really try hard. On Sunday, the three boys and dad will head down to the 'Dome (20 years after Kirby won the World Series) to see the Vikings get smoked by LT and the Chargers. Should be good - Ben says they are good seats, and I'm sure we'll eat well. It's our little reward for doing millions of dollars of business with our bank.....seems fair enough (um.....) Finally, the mayoral election - or what I like to call, "The Beginning of the End". Hmm, whom to choose from. (dammit, Boston Legal is over, but now I'm being distracted by "meteorologist" king douchebag) Anywho....whom to choose from, "young talkie talkie talkie" or "old stumbly bumbly". I'll be looking for Ross Perot on my ballot.... Finally....no BIG commentary this week, but looking for advice. Where to travel in February or March this winter.....Hawaii? Bahamas? Mexico? Looking for your pointers. Short and sweet this week. Good luck in the woods - and on the fantasy fields. And finally, remember, if you're considering ordering concrete tomorrow, you just might get a hero. Need I say more?
