'Mr. Frost'....Aaron Brooks, Alex Smith, Joey Harrington - your pick...From the healthy, Norton virus protected notebook of your commish. Tuesday October 11th, 2005 9:44 PM Rambling after week 5... Let's play some Mad Libs this week - its kinda like me writing part of the column and you customizing it to cater to your own amusement style - enjoy (and if you're really bored, you could cut and paste and email the rest of the league your selections for the 'fill in the blanks'). So at least only one of those __________ (adjective) guys found their way onto my roster. I'm sure glad I passed over Carson Palmer, Matt Hasselbeck and only probably another 10 quarterbacks that are better than that ___________ (adjective) Aaron Brooks. So I now announce that Aaron Brooks joins Eddie George in the Air JC Hall of __________ (adjective) - aka, the worst of the worst. And, you know what this means, if history repeats itself, I will find Aaron Brooks on my team for about ____ (number) of the next ____ (slightly larger number) fantasy seasons - just as Eddie George did in the late 90's. Anywho, then there are the good guys who get injured. Deuce McAllister for one. You know, we all thought that Jason's 7-7 stuff was done with the year he had last year and then this year's quick start, but I think at this point he'd be happy to peer into the _______ (noun) and forsee a _____ (winning %) season for the Little Red Horse. So what else do we know at this point in the season? Well, Smitty is leading the Bulldog Division by himself. Nice work for the _______ (take your pick)....even more so in having more points against than points for. Can he keep it up and make a run at his first championship? We'll see....he has the lead for now, but it's still as tight as your ____________'s (female relative) _____________ (interesting body part) in his ___________ (I was gonna say 'division', but you might enjoy filling in that blank). And then you have the two roommates - Jon and Juice. Somehow Juice's team finds itself in 2nd in the division. That's about all courtesy of LT. Without that guy, Juice would be __________ (action) three ways until __________ (day of the week or month of the year). But at least he didn't have to ________ (action) a new __________ (small off road vehicle) for ___________ (Smith's dad). As for Jonny C. His team just plain _________ (action - think...well, who am I kidding, I'm sure you'll get that one). Yet somehow his 51 from last week wasn't the lowest of the year thus far. What a ______ing (four-letter descriptive) logjam in the Husky Division. Jonny is scoring points like crazy - and that's with a __________ (term for useless) quarterback from Minnesota. Just think if that dumb __________ (fried chicken food chain restaurant) eating boy gets his _________ (noun) in a ball.....the Tang could be deadly. Wong is up to his usual _________ (adjective). Scoring points and winning games. Ben is holding on and showing that the selection of Hasselbeck may not have been the worst move ever made since he has the almost ever injured Mike Vick to give him headaches. And even though GOO is at 2-3, he's dropped the __________ (noun) and is poised to __________ (sports cliche). Finally, on to the Bison Division. First, we all know that my team __________ ($%@%^&!!). Then there is Mike's team, but he's got the 'get out of jail free' card this year since his ________ (body part) will be officially __________ (action) off in a few short days. Jugsie is leading the league in ________ (again, I was going to go with scoring, but what the hell, have some fun with this one too) this year. Will that lead him to the promised land? Hard to say when Suomala's boys have come out of the gate _________ (action). At 5-0, the 'Fish are the only undefeated team left this season. Can Suomala keep this streak going? Hard to say, but I ________ bet against it. Need I say more? BIGFFBL senior writer Jeremy Carlson sounds off whenever he feels like it on www.bigffbl.com |
